Karan Johar ‘Apologises Profusely’ For Sharing ‘Insensitive’ Social Media Posts Amid The COVID-19 Outbreak
Like all of us, filmmaker and producer Karan Johar, too, is quarantining with his family at home. And to pass time, rather keep his fans entertained, KJo has been sharing a streak of ‘Lockdown With The Johars’ videos, hinting at the delightful bond that he shares with his twins Yash – Roohi and mother Hiroo. However, the filmmaker seems to have seen something that has changed his mind. It’s a video that made KJo realise about his privilege as a celebrity, while many people are struggling to survive amid such crisis.

The viral clip titled ‘Thank You Celebrities’ takes a polite dig at stars like Ellen DeGeneres and Amanda Byrnes for treating such national health crisis like a vacation in their luxurious mansions, while a lot of commoners are finding it tough to make the ends meet. The ones struggling are the medicals professionals that are being attacked and abused, people who have lost their jobs, someone who lost his shelter after being ousted for not being able to pay the rent or a person that lost his loved one to the deadly virus.

Karan Johar, in his caption, apologised for being insensitive in such times. He wrote, "This hit me hard and I have realised many of my posts may have been insensitive to many...I apologise profusely and wish to add none of it was intentional and came from a place of sharing but clearly may have lacked emotional foresight ....am sorry!"

Check out his post below:

While a lot his followers supported KJo for bringing some positivity amid the outbreak, many lauded him for his self-realisation.
